There have been multiple versions of Hans Christian Anderson's "The Little Mermaid," with Disney's animated one being the most well known. However, there are some interesting similarities with Japan's anime version of the mermaid story made in 1975. You may be surprised at how some of the scenes like surprisingly alike side-by-side.

With Disney planning a live action Little Mermaid soon, we thought it would be interesting to take a look at the 1989 animation and compare it to another. Plus, you'll get some good Disney animation history included here. Let us know your thoughts!
