Are you one of those people who got tired from the regular shounen character arcs? The main character starts off weak and ignored by others but eventually gains strength and friends completing a full cycle of a hero’s journey? This may work a couple of times but seeing this over time can get boring. This is why many new anime fans these days tend to love overpowered protagonists.
