The One Piece is the ultimate treasure that will make its owner the Pirate King, but we know little about it. Let’s discuss what we know and what could it be.
The ultimate question of all time: what is the One Piece?
In case you didn’t know, One Piece is a legendary long-running anime and manga about pirates, friendship, and adventure. Everybody loves it! It’s hard to find a reason to hate it - except, well, that everybody loves it. I’m looking at you, mainstream-haters. One Piece follows the amazing adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a stubborn meat-obsessed rubber man who has this grand dream of becoming the Pirate King. He ate the “rubber devil fruit”, a magical fruit that makes its consumer have the body of a rubber man.
A rubber man is… a man made of rubber. It sounds corny at first, but it gets really cool when you see what he comes up with.
Luffy goes sailing around the world, gathering “interesting” people for his pirate crew. Together, they fight other pirates, form alliances, and basically become heroes in every place that they go to. Everything they’ve done so far is in pursuit of the elusive One Piece, a treasure left behind by the first Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. Whoever claims the One Piece will be the next Pirate King!
One Piece is nearing its 1000th manga chapter, but the One Piece remains as elusive as ever. No one has any idea what the hell it’s supposed to be.
