So, Disney recently released its remake of the 1994 film, The Lion King. The reception both before and after the release has been mixed, a large part of the negative opinions being based around how realistic 3D animation ruins the charm and life of the original 2D film. But, The Lion King was not the only film that gives kids from the 90's nostalgia, the other film was Detective Pikachu. While The Lion King will surely make more at the box office than Detective Pikachu, I aim to show why Detective Pikachu is superior to The Lion King remake when it comes to animation.
