In episode 9, Karasuno finally gets Coach Ukai interested in the team because of the upcoming practice match against Nekoma. His first idea is to hold a practice match between Karasuno and the Neighbourhood Volleyball Association, but since there aren't enough players, he gets Nishinoya and Asahi to play! We see Asahi finally break through his self-imposed shackles and accept that volleyball is a team sport that he really enjoys playing. We finally have an ace!
