I'm so SICK of people saying how One Piece BROKE the live action Western anime curse when freaking Alita Battle Angel already did that! I think an important thing to keep in mind here is accessibility. This might just be a personal thing, but Alita Battle Angel is REALLY And I think by comparison, One Piece broke the curse by being so easily ACCESSIBLE in addition to being so GOOD, whereas Alita Battle Angel, you kind of have to look at THAT and go, “I want to stare at that face for an hour and a half.” And I very much did NOT want to do that.
