PSYCHO-PASS is a Japanese cyberpunk psychological thriller anime television series produced by Production The series is set in a futuristic Japan governed by the Sibyl System (シビュラシステム, Shibyura Shisutemu), a powerful bio-mechanical computer network which endlessly measures the biometrics of Japanese citizens' brains and mentalities using a "cymatic scan." The resulting assessment is called a Psycho-Pass (サイコパス, Saikopasu), which includes a numeric Crime Coefficient (犯罪係数, Hanzaikeisū) index, revealing the citizen's criminality potential, and a color-coded Hue, alerting law enforcement to other data, as well as the improvement (clearing) or decline (clouding) of said Psycho-Pass

Season 1 centers around the "enforcement officer" Shinya Kogami, who is tasked with managing crime in such a world. With Akane Tsunemori, they end up in a search for the criminally asymptomatic, Shogo Makishima

Shinya Kogami (狡噛 慎也 Kougami Shinya) is a Tactical Advisor within the Suppressing Action Department of the Foreign Affairs Operations Department. Prior to this, he roams southeast Asia serving as a mercenary in foreign countries, like Shambala Float, helping oppressed populations gain autonomy. Prior to his soujourn, he is an Inspector within Division 01 of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Public Safety Bureau until the Specimen Case, then as an Enforcer before his illegal actions against Shogo Makishima and his escape from the PSB force him into exile. He is the main protagonist in the first season of Psycho-Pass.

Shogo Makishima (槙島 聖護 Makishima Shougo) is a criminally asymptomatic individual whose stated goal is to liberate Japanese society from the Sibyl System, as he believes that it is turning its citizens into non-thinking automatons instead of independent thinking human beings.
Shogo is the main antagonist in the first season of Psycho-Pass.
