anime intros

i'm just gonna go ahead and say it, anime intros are the worst thing you can possibly make as a youtuber. it bothers me so much how people will go through so much time and effort to make these things, when they're so just, unentertaining, unoriginal, and above all, unnecessary.

if you don't know what i'm talking about, i'm talking about those dumb compilations of random clips from random animes, usually like jojo's bizarre adventure, one piece, demon slayer, y'know popular meta animes. you know the ones with the over the top visual effects and the youtuber's name plastered all over the final few seconds, usually with some anime opening or some sort of anime music playing in the background. some bigger youtubers have them, like infernasu and nanoprodigy to name a few just off the top of my head.

and now i'm gonna emphasize this real quick, i DO NOT have ANYTHING against ANY of these youtubers stated. this is my personal opinion about their intros ONLY. i hate youtuber drama, it's so unnecessary and i don't wanna start anything like that.

now with that out of the way, let's get down to business. i do want to mention that these intros clearly take a lot of effort and i don't want to offend anyone that's made them or undervalue their work, i understand it's got to be incredibly hard to compile so many different clips and add all the visual effects and sync it with the music, honestly i'm not sure i could do it if i wanted to.

but, as i mentioned they are just so unnecessary in my opinion.

some of them go as far as to make a different one for each anime and it's just, so much effort for no reason, like you could've been using that time to develop a cure for cancer and you've been sitting in your closet downloading anime clips and green screens and adding filters for 2 days straight making something that 50% of people will just skip over.

for the life of me i cannot figure out why they're there, they're so incredibly obnoxious and their mere existence just bothers me for some reason. i can only imagine the people that make them just wanted to edit something well but they didn't have anything to focus all their editing power on so they just throw it onto some ready made anime clips and bunch it into the first 20 seconds of the video.

oh yeah another thing, some of them are just SO INCREDIBLY LONG TOO. like i've seen intros on 1 minute videos that are 20 seconds long. 33% of their video just random anime clips stitched together with whatever anime opening or rap music or cover they like in the background. I CAME TO YOUTUBE TO WATCH YOUTUBE VIDEOS, IF I WANTED TO SEE ANIME CLIPS I'D BE ON CRUNCHYROLL MAN.

And the absolute worst decision you can make as a youtuber is prioritize your intro over your actual content. There was one guy that dmed me asking for advice to start his own youtube channel and I kid you not, before he made a single video or anything, he made an anime intro. and honestly this guy thought he was set just with this 10 second clip, like it'd be a breeze from there. ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

truth be told, anime intros may add some sort of transition to your video and some fading sense of professionality, but that's honestly gonna be like 0.1% of your viewers' impressions on you. they may just skip the intro and then what? they're looking for your content. how well your content is made and edited. they don't care about those anime clips you smudged together!

even if your viewers get an impression from your anime intro, there's no guarantee it'll be that of a positive one! many of your viewers may be turned off by your unoriginality, seeing that you're a droplet in the sea of robot youtubers that have no personality and slap an anime intro together with some boring content that people don't watch for your personality but more often just to gain some information from you. in fact! i was looking for anime intros as examples and when i searched yba, i noticed that 90% of the videos didn't have one. but when i searched "yba tutorial" or "aba tutorial" or "[insert roblox anime game] tutorial", i was drowned in anime intro after anime intro after anime intro.

anime intros are possibly the most time and effort intensive waste you can make as a youtuber. they serve little to no purpose and they are as unoriginal as you can get. if you are a youtuber or aspire to be one, take it from me, just don't. people will make the most cinematic intros and then you get into the video and their editing is low effort trash. instead, try putting more effort into making and editing the actual video, what people clicked on the thumbnail to see. thank you all for watching, make sure to like and subscribe if you enjoyed as well as join the discord in the description. and as always, see you next time.
