Dragon Ball Z music composer Bruce Faulconer joins me on an all-new episode. Bruce talks to me about his earliest memories composing music for Dragon Ball Z, his thought process in creating musical theme songs, his current project Dragon Amnesty, and much more! Bruce has also composed music for television shows and national documentaries like The Bystander Theory, Your New House, Tornado Alert, The Writing Coach, and more.

More about Bruce Faulconer:
Bruce Faulconer attended the University of Texas for advanced training in musical composition. During his time at the University of Texas, he learned music composition from professional composers like Hunter Johnson, Karl Korte, Joseph Schwantner, and Eugene Kurtz. During his time at the University of Texas, Bruce received a Bachelor of Music Degree with High Honors in Theory and Composition, a Master of Music Degree in Composition, and a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Composition. He has also received a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowships from Ohio State University.

In 1998, FUNimation contracted Bruce Faulconer to compose musical soundtracks for season 3 of Dragon Ball Z. His music for DBZ premieres from episode 66 of the series to the last episode of the series. Season 3 of Dragon Ball Z with Faulconer’s score received high Nielsen ratings as the Number One Rated Show in Children’s Programming for Cable (2001-2003).

Bruce has done musical compositions for various PBS documentary series. His work includes documentaries like Fiesta in the Sky, Locked Out of the American Dream, and What You Need to Know.
