Anime ini bercerita tentang seorang remaja bernama amamiya ren yg suatu hari membangkitkan suatu kmampuan spesial didalam dirinya yang bernama Persona. Dengan kekuatan tersebut Ren mampu merubah hati seseorang disebuah dunia kognitif yang bernama Palace. Bersama para pengguna persona lainnya ia pun membentuk group bernama Phantom Thieves yang bertugas untuk membasmi kebusukan dalam hati manusia.
