Real time animation work on a real cartoon pilot slated for release in 2021, chronicling the adventures of an unlikely trio of young people (and a monkey) thrown together on a quest with implications far greater than any of them imagine. This double length (48 minutes instead of 24) episode kicks off a 12 episode story arc.
I am writer/director/animator David Matthew Weese and am a successful filmmaker (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4451899/) with extensive experience in writing, directing, editing and scoring entertainment and corporate media.
Having always been a cartoonist, in 2018 I turned my attention away from live action filmmaking to animation. Projects in development include an anime, a Futurama fan episode, and this cartoon.
BlendedPlanet YouTube content is focused on real-world animation work on a real project - NOT content curated to make it all look fun and easy. It IS fun, but it's often quite a challenge as well.
In addition to Krita, I use Tahoma/OpenToonz and Blender, using whatever happens to be the right tool for the job at hand. In practice, despite all the wonderful capabilities of {{ name your favorite software }} I find myself coming back to Krita (despite it's limitations) most of the time.
