y dad acted completely normal at dinner that night. I tried to figure out whether he was nervous about something. But he never gave anything away. The thoughts of Alice living next door, distracted me from my dad’s secretive life.
When everybody was asleep, I looked through my bedroom window which was upstairs, I could see Alice laying on her bed in her room listening to music. Wow, she was even prettier with her sleep wear on. She looked out the window, I ducked down so she wouldn’t see me staring.
After a few moments I peeped through the window again, she was still in the same position. ‘phew!’ she didn’t see me.

Gazing upon the garden in our home, I really felt happy that my mom was gardening again. Suddenly, there was a rustling in one of the bushes. Was it a burglar? No! It was my dad, he had binoculars in his hands. He was looking over the fence. Who was he looking at?
Luckily, Alice put her bedside lamp off. My dad waited a few moments, then he jumped over the fence. Was he going to do something weird? Break into her room? I couldn’t believe my eyes. He was moving closer to her bedroom window, then he ducked down and moved around the corner, pass her bedroom.
He had a little device in his hands, he touched it and a small light started flashing. Then found an open window to their living room. He put his creepy hand through the window. A few moments later he left Alice and her family undisturbed. But the device was gone?
What dark secret was my dad hiding? I went out of my room to go to the bathroom and met my dad in the hallway. He looked startled, “Where were you?” I asked. “Just returning from a late-night stroll, some fresh air, good night, Son!”
My dad was too good at lying, I had to let it go. But I was going to keep an eye on Alice, to make sure she’s safe. The next day after school, I asked Alice to join me for a walk in the park. She looked even more beautiful in her walk clothes than she did in her school uniform.
