Top 10 MOST REJECTED Players

Every player gets his shot blocked, and that’s no big deal, but as a competitor this is a statistical category that you definitely don’t wanna to be leading.
So you can easily find the defensive numbers a.k.a blocks per game, but there is almost no info on which player got his shot rejected the most.
Which is where I come in with another unconventional video topic. But it’s the dog days of the NBA not a lot of things going on in the league so why not. What up everybody my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it.
Taking a look at this list, I guess the first thing that comes to mind is: “Of course the little guy is gonna be number 1.” But if you go past Kemba, you’ll see that height is not necessarily the factor here. Let me explain.
If you take a look at these players, you’ll see that most of them have the mindset of always attacking the rim which is where most of the blocks take place, so that’s why a beast like Giannis, was rejected almost as many times as the minuscule Walker and I bet most of you wouldn’t even think of putting the Greek Freak on this list.
But just think about how many of Milwaukee’s plays ended up with Antetokounmpo wrestling under the rim with 3 defenders around him.
Exactly 70% of his shots came from within 8 feet of the basket, the most crowded area on the floor. So with that many attempts in traffic, it totally makes sense.
And when I tell you that Harden is leading the league in drives to the basket, it becomes clear why he is at number 2, despite being one of the craftiest finishers the game has seen, who can also draw a foul at an unseen rate.
And speaking of most drives, look at how similar that list is. This is a clear indicator that if you attack the basket, you’re bound to get your shot blocked at times. Similar to the old saying for some of the best rim protectors- If you go up for the block, you’ll definitely end up being posterized every so often.
So circling back to Kemba, you have a guy who is top 10 when it comes to going to the rim, a franchise player on an extremely bad team which puts him in a situation where he has to take a lot of shots, and a lot of tough shots at that. And on top of that, if you also consider that yes, blocking him is a bit easier than rejecting 7 footer, that’s how Kemba Walker found himself number 1 on this not so desirable list.
Whatever the case may be I can assure you that despite this negative statistical category, non of these guys nor their coaches and teams would ever want them to change their aggressive mentality on the court. At the end of the day, that’s exactly the same reason why they get a ton of buckets on a nightly basis.
