Why is Naruto's Kurama orange, but Minato's kurama is brown?
This is to symbolize and represent the two energy halves. Kurama wasn’t spilt in half randomly. It was split in a Yang half and a Yin half. Yang 阳 represents brightness: Naruto’s orange one. While the other half is the Yin 阴 which represents darkness. So it’s darker.
While Naruto had an amazingly strong body even as a newborn, thanks to his Uzumaki genes and being a reincarnation of Asura, it was not enough at the time. Sealing full Kurama inside of a little baby was too much, and it wasn’t smart either because there’d be no living Nine Tails Jinchuriki, so Minato decided to split it in two chakra halves, one yin and one yang.
He sealed the Yang part in baby Naruto while he took the Yin part with him in hell, aka the Shinigami’s stomach where their souls were consumed and sealed to suffer for eternity.
Once they were freed in the war, Yin half Kurama said it wasn’t surprising Naruto managed to sweet-talk its other half lol
Yin half figured out that Minato knew the Yang half and his son could work together. Maybe the Yin half would’ve been too much hatred for little Naruto to suppress and remain a good guy… Who knows.
