I still can't believe that I've been able to find so many people like me, who love comic-to-film culture, and we've been able to watch and share some of my favorite scenes with each other. Thank you guys!

Today we're taking a look at the Evolution of Pikachu in cartoons and movies. This list was quite the undertaking, as there have been A TON OF POKEMON cartoons. Trying to find great, new clips to share with you guys was a bit tough, but I hope you like what we've made.

Pokémon: Indigo League (season 1) (1997)
According to series producer Satoshi Tajiri, the name is from two Japanese sounds: pika, a sound an electric spark makes, and chu, a sound a mouse makes.
Pokémon: Adventures on the Orange Islands (season 2) (1999)
Standing 40 centimetres (1 ft 4 in) tall, Pikachu were the first "Electric-type" Pokémon created.
Pokémon: The Johto Journeys (season 3) (1999-2000)
In the video games, Pikachu is a Pokémon which has appeared in all of the games, except Black and White, without having to trade.
The game Pokémon Yellow features a Pikachu as the only available Starter Pokémon.
Pokémon:Johto League Champions (season 4) (2000-2001)
The Pokémon anime series and films feature the adventures of Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu, traveling through the various regions of the Pokémon universe.
As the mascot of the franchise, Pikachu has made multiple appearances in various promotional events and merchandise.
Pokémon: Master Quest (season 5 ) (2001)
The anime has shown that wild Pikachu live in groups in forested areas.
Pokémon: Advanced (season 6) (2002)
Electricity can be used to receive and send messages with each other, as well as other Electric Pokémon species.
Pokémon: Advanced Challenge (season 7) (2003)
Pikachu charges itself while sleeping overnight, though stress and a lack of sleep can affect this.
Pikachu has been known to build up energy in its glands.
Pokémon: Advanced Battle (season 8) (2004)
In Mewtwo Strikes Back, Mewtwo cloned Ash's Pikachu.
This Pikachu can be distinguished from Ash's due to the spikes in the black marks found on the tips of its ears.
Pokémon: Battle Frontier (season 9) (2005)
The nation of Niue released a one-dollar coin with its coat of arms on one side and Pikachu on the other to promote the Pokémon franchise.
Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl (season 10) (2006)
Veronica Taylor has said Pikachu is her favorite Pokémon. Sarah Natochenny has as well, shared with Mew.

It raises its tail to check its surroundings and is occasionally struck by lightning in this position.
Pokémon: DP: Galactic Battles (season 12) (2008-2009)
Pikachu communicate amongst themselves using squeaks and tail-shaking as friendly gestures.
Pokémon: DP: Sinnoh League Victors (season 13) (2010)
Initially both Pikachu and the Pokémon Clefairy were chosen to be lead characters for the franchise merchandising.
Pokémon: Black & White (season 14) (2010-2011)
In 2008, Japanese researchers discovered a new protein that helps carry electrical impulses from the eyes to the brain and named it pikachurin.
According to them, it was so named for sharing Pikachu's "lightning-fast moves and shocking electric effects".
Pokémon: BW: Rival Destinies (season 15) (2011-2012)
Pikachu is the only core series starter Pokémon with a pre-evolved form, though Pokémon Yellow predates Pichu.

According to A Sneak Peek at Pokémon, Pikachu can deliver a constant current of 1000 amperes.

Pikachu is the only core series starter Pokémon that does not have a 7:1 gender ratio.

Pikachu's designer, Atsuko Nishida, revealed in an interview that it was originally a daifuku-like creature with ears.
Its black ear tips are remnants from this original concept.[5]
Pokémon: Sun and Moon (season 20) (2016-2017)
Pikachu debuted in Wanted: Pikachu!, where it was stealing all the crops in a town.
Pokémon: Ultra Adventures (season 21) (2017-)
In Just a Spearow Carrier, a Pikachu appeared with its Trainer at Indigo Plateau. It noticeably has a flower by its ear.
POKÉMON Detective Pikachu (2019)
Multiple Pikachu were among the Electric-type Pokémon that charged the Prism Tower during a blackout in Pangoro Poses a Problem.
