Today is Rengoku Kyojuro’s birthday, so here are some facts about the character from Demon Slayer’s Databooks that you might not have known! First off did you know that Rengoku taught HIMSELF the breath of flames? Even though Rengoku’s father was the past Flame Hashira, he only trained Rengoku for 3 months to teach him basic sword skills, and then couldn’t be asked to continue due to his alcoholism and depression, so Kyojurou goes into the Rengoku family records and reads 3 volumes of the Breath of Flames Guidebook created by the family, and not only teaches himself, but does such a good job that he quickly becomes a Hashira. When he was alive he had a DEEP love for humans, and had such a strong spirit that demons could literally see it outside of his body, commenting that he had nearly evolved into beyond a human. Rengoku was 20 years old when he died so now he’d be 21, and when Tokito saw that Tanjiro got the guard from his Sword, he let out a tear, remembering how nice Rengoku was to him in the past.
